A collaboration between Christa Donner and Andrew Yang, KAWA imagines Yokohama's Ooka River as a body of water in which life forms are interconnected as living organs. Although written using different characters, in spoken Japanese the word "kawa" is a homonym that can mean both "river" and "skin.”
